Is it worth the upgrade to a Stage I by fuelmoto. I need to buy the PC V and air cleaner. Will I notice a difference in power. He said an additional 7-8 peak HP with 3-4 throughout the band and same with torque. I am questioning whether I would even notice this difference. Opinions from those with experience. Thanks
In a car 7-8 HP might not be felt but on a bike that equates to 10% more power. You should feel it. Even if the seat of the pants dyno says it is the same, the result should be a cooler running and much happier motor. I don't know from FM's stage one or just a build it yourself setup, but either way, it is a good start.
i'll just say here what i've said on any other reference towards Fuel Moto.. i wish i had gotten my PCV from them.. lifetime free maps customized for your bike as long as you have the power commander? that in itself is worth it, especially if you change your pipes or something down the road. and yeah, with the right intake and right set of pipes, you'll notice it
Get the kit AND a set of pipes. You'll love the new sound and feeling of power. The PC rocks. Your engine will run cooler and last longer. Mileage may suffer, since it's not running as lean anymore. I average about 40 mpg now. I was doing 45 mpg before the mods started. Power is much better now. Well worth it.
I installed my A/C and PC V from fuelmoto last month. I already had a full system pipe change and I will say I can feel a nice difference a bit more bottom end and when I hit 3rd she pulls like a mother.
I did Fuelmoto a/c kit-$159 or so if I remember correctly, Xied- $100 or so on sale, and some great Rush full pipes that did away with cats from ebay. All told, less than $600 plus whatever a/c cover you want. Very happy with it. If you're not, then buy the PC tuner from Fuelmoto. I researched first and found no complaints at all about Xieds. I know PC from FM will do better tune thru whole bandwith but I just didn't need that right now. Good luck. Ride safe.
I cannot speak highly enough of my experiences with Fuelmoto. My Road King had a stage 1 set up from them and now my Crossbones does. I also got my cams from them and he sent me a new map. My bike has never had any decel pop and NEVER backfired once. His maps are spot on. I will be doing their big bore kit sometime as well. His customer service is top notch as well. Between him and Drew, you can't go wrong.
Jamie also cut me a killer deal on my last stage one. When he quoted me the price, I was in the process of selling stuff from my Road King. I said I was about $50 bucks short but I was waiting for payment on an item. He said don't worry about it and knocked the $50 off the price. Dude rocks, flat out....
