Default Right bike for ME?

5-7 185 been on a bike for about 18 years. Last one was a 1200R. set up Cafe style with clipons and rearsets. Now looking to ride a little more and a lot longer trips. Found a nice Heritage in my area for sale. But I be damed if I know anything about them. Its a 1989 FLSTC has about 50k on the clock. The owner knows it has a new carb, pipes, and oil but does not know anything else that has ever been done as he has only had it a year. Rides and sounds good. Just wondering if there is anything to watch out for on this model? Should I save up a few more $$ and look for a 2002 or newer? Love the style. this one has a solo and bags. thats it.
Thanks
