I have a 2005 night train with 22000 miles. It has been hard to shift lately, especially 1st to 2nd gear. Also difficult to find neutral because I have to press so hard on the shifter. I've changed fluids and I've changed the clutchpack. Anything else that I could try?

 

Did you adjsut the clutch pack?

Adjust clutch. Make sure you did not overfill tyranny or primary chain case. Either one will cause hard to find N.

 

I agree, check the clutch adjustment.

I guess we just identified the problem. . .

 

Just watched that video. He left out the final step which is to adjust the cable adjustment to take the free play out of the lever.

He also dropped the derby cover when taking it off and it slammed down onto the lift. hrmm...
