man, i was this close to buy a night rod special 2007 until i pulled the clutch!!!
oh man, i haven't pulled a hard cluth like that since the early 90's ...
How do you guys do with on a night rod in a traffic jam ??? If i don't buy a night rod the only reason would be the clutch.
See, I live in a city where there's lots of traffic here.. tons of red light and stop.. With a cluth like that im gona be the guy with the strongest left hand in my city block...
Is there an aftermarket for easier cluth for the night rod ? or should i wait for the 2008 night rod ? (will they have easier clutch) ?
today's harley comes with easy clutch. You can use 1 finger to pull any (softail, flh, dyna) clutch...
With the night rod special, i need 4 fingers to pull the clutch... unless the night rod i tried was damaged or defect, i don't think they are the easiest... definately not. A quick search on the web poped me few results "Hard clutch-pull" on all VRSC.
Apparently Sportster have a hard pull clutch too. but their arent hyrdrolic.
Must have been something wrong with it. If it is modifed with a 10 plate clutch or something like that it is understandable. Stock the rod has a metric easy clutch.
VRSC clutch pull is a little stiff, especially if the fluid is dirty. Just like any style of bike you can have some that are harder than others. I would definitely change the fluid and put some clean in. If this is not enough an AIM clutch can be installed. It makes the clutch pull effortless I hear.
You get used to it after a while.
Clutch is no harder than on other models. And by other models I dont just mean Harleys...Ducatis also have a hard clutch. It is not a big deal.
