RE: Night Rod Special clutch
I've seen the clutch pack, first hand. They changed the friction plates to have a little ramp on them, so they increase grip as the clutch is released. Pretty neat little design. They were able to use lighter springs on the pack, so the clutch pull is reduced maybe 20% vs. stock. It still locks up well, and allows for BIG HP motors, including turbo applications, and even the biggest of big bores.
The thing you'll notice the most, is when you down shift, you will get a nice smooth transition until the engine RPM's match your rolling RPMS.
The slipper clutch is retrofittable into ALL previous V-Rod models, so next time you need a clutch, you may want to consider getting the slipper clutch.
