I recently just installed new Samson 33" Longtails without baffles on my 2003 FLSTC carb. Twin Cam. I have put about 300-400 miles on it since the new exhaust and I have noticed the bike is harder to start now even when the engine is hot. My old exhaust was V & H bigshots WITH baffles and I never had this issue..I checked the plugs and they dont show any signs of being too rich or lean..ANY IDEAS WHAT THE NEW ISSUE WOULD BE? Is it because I went to exhaust without baffles? Do I need to re-jet the carb.?

Same happened to me. Installed 2 in baffle Slip ons...and engine was hard to start hot...ok on cold start. I had to install aftermarket ECM and plug in new numbers for cranking fuel...prestart enrichment...IAC home position. Try this....when bike is hot...open up your throttle just a little bit to open the throttle plate just a tad...then hit start. If it starts right up...then most likely you need to have the Idle Air Control motor open up just a bit more as you crank. Best solution...pricey....a Tmax. Mine fires right up now.

He said he has a carb'd bike... Have you tried to pull out on the enrichener a little when hot to see if it helps?

Sorry....I was a little toasty when I read hid post. Plus one your suggestion. Might also put a timing light on it and try regarding ignition just a tad...he might also just push in choke a bit when the bike is hot.
