Hi Guys,
I am looking at Z Bars, due to a small conflict between myself and OPP (Ontario Prov Police) re: the height of my bars .
So I am looking for an 8" bars that has a bit of a pull down and the best pull back. I have the old Road6 style, the new style looks really nice but since I am out for a new bar, I thought I ask everyone, what is your favorite Z/mini ape bars .. something with flare and old skool looks.
I was looking at the jammers 8" Z Narrow .. I love the height and pullback , but they come with very short center bar in the bottom, I wonder if it will look wrong on top of the triple (my current bars are almost 10" wide at the bottom and not 7.5").
Here is a pic of the 8" bars I am looking at and of course you can see the bike in my sig with the current 12". they are also cool, less pull back (6") and wider base (9.5") and they come ready in black
Hey man,
I am moving from 12" bars down, so I do not have stock cables at all, but if you are moving from a NightTrain or Standard, odds are the shorty risers (like licks cycle or RSD) will be great
I am going to put my RSD shorty risers for sale shortly
thanks man! only reason i mentionesd anything is because ASH16 in his for sale ad said he didnt have to change or extend anything yeah im gonna go with the shorties! so how is the comfortability? better than the stocker drag bars by far im guessing since the 8" apes are a 6" pullback??? lemme know guys thanks!
thanks man i really appreciate it! because of you im gonna be more comfortable and my bike is gonna look sick!... by the way i literally got the idea from your for sale ad, your bike before and now in your sig is beautiful!!!
another question for ya... with those bars installed could you have possibly went 1.5" or 2" risers??? instead of the 1" ooor did the 1" riser just barely fit?
Hey KLF, went through the same issues with my 12" Z-Bars. I was stopped for having a headlight out and was questioned about my bar height (12" bars w/2" risers). Opted for a change to a 8" Z-Bar, but wasn't happy with the feel. Then switched to 12" narrow apes (look just like the harley mini apes) and haven't been hassled since. Anyways, the 8" z-bars I have, look just like the pic you posted only the 7 1/2" dim is a true 8" the 12 1/2" is 14 1/2" and there is approx. 8 to 9" pullback. With the bars being 1 1/2" dia. they are 11" total width and line up with the fork tubes really nice, doesn't look funny at all. Can't remember the name of the bars I got, but I think they were in the Parts Canada catalogue. Rode with them maybe a hand full of times before i switched them out. If you interested or have any questions pm me. I'm in Burlington.
im interested in pics of the 1 1/2" z-bars. I was lookin at getting a set made from br customs- 10" height about 4-6" pullback and 10" across the bottom....
are your 1 1/2" thick complete across the bottom or do they step down for the risers?
another question for ya... with those bars installed could you have possibly went 1.5" or 2" risers??? instead of the 1" ooor did the 1" riser just barely fit?
Any higher and I would have had to at least change the brake line. Thank you Turbo.
