Instead of a button, just get a momentarily closed toggle switch that will match whatever other toggle switches you need for lights, etc.
Oh, and I would spend the extra money and get them from a boat shop instead of RatShack. The boat switches will be made for a more hostile environment and won't corrode inside or out as quickly as standard electronics switches will.
+1 on Boat shop or supplier for switches! Even if you never, ever, ride in the rain you are going to wash the bike at some point right?
Would love to do Gripace but that is some pricey stuff for some damn buttons. I am still looking for the momentary switches. All i can seem to find is a push button. which i think i am going to have to end up going with. i guess those will work. I was just kinda looking for a switch board style look that will be mounted below my seat next to the starter.
What i was also thinking about doing is using some silicone so that i can seal the connections after i solder them.
2006FLST - If you know the name of that company that would be awesome
This is not the same one I used but seems similar. I just like the pre wired set ups because you have no connectors or screws to worry about. Just think if a screw came out going down the road your bike would just shut off!!
