It's not as "mean" looking as some of the other bikes but more "classy" to me.
I think a Deluxe can easily be made to look classy and mean at the same time.

I am new to the forums as well. I have an 08 Deluxe. I waited about a year before I started any mods. Started with a windshield, thens some bags, chaged the seat so my wife is more comfortable, back rest. I should be getting a set of Rush slip ons today and will be putting them on tonight when I get home from work. Plan on waking up the neighbors when i am done. I went with the Deluxe for the old school look. I will be moving to some apes next, if I can find some I like.

I can not believe you bought a chick's bike!!! You should have just bought an 883. Did it come with some pretty pink fringe for you to show off? Don't ride it too much, you will start sitting down to pee. Man, I swear. Boys and their girly bikes!!! Oh wait, damn I have a Deluxe. Scratch all of the above comments please. lol

Welcome to the Harley family man.
For sure there are some unbelievable Deluxe's on this forum!
It will be hard to compete with those guys. It ALMOST made me think getting the fatboy was a bad idea! (ALMOST!)
First thing I did on my bike when I got it was pipes, handlebars, seat, chrome, chrome, and more chrome!
I made the mistake of going with some mods right away, and now less than 2 years later have already switched one of the mods I had done...
Take your time like others have said here and see things you would like to do and then come here for questions.
Example, you decide to do pipes, search around here and see what people say about each different pipe. Great advice from fellow riders here and everyone is always willing to give some insight (good or bad!)
And plus, the Doc will help you trying to get cheap prices!

Good luck and ride safe!

+1, when it comes to mods you will soon find out that Drew and Shawn at Dr-VTwin are your best bet for great deals. I ordered my 39" Samson Colos from them as have many other people on here plus I just ordered another goody from them about 20 minutes ago.
