Default Wheel Question

What is the largest rear rim you can put on a stock softail FXST 2000? Im not willing to go wider than 5 inches and no thinner than 3.5

Would an 18 in rim fit without any modification? If so, what sized tire would I need? I dont want the rear tire bing less than 3.5 inches but no more than 5.

Thanks

18x4.25 with a 160 tire although it depends on the brand of the tire and you might need to check your rear wiring harness and struts bolts for clearance.

Thanks Drew! So what do you think a larger wheel would look back there. The owner of NYC Choppers suggested it and he now has me thinking about going with an 18.

It will look pretty nice. Contrast that 21-inch front really well. Suits the bike just right with enough meat to look fat but not silly.

Now you're talking. Instead of the 2.15 I'd be going with a 3 up front.
