Default Oil Temp Dipstick

I bought the 62896-00B oil temperature gauge dipstick today to satisfy my curiosity of my running oil temps. I haven't changed out the exhaust system yet or added a fuel manager. I wanted first to find out what my temps were after a trip. What I am seeing are temps about 210o. I think that is pretty good for a stock bike. What I was wondering is how accurate this thermometer is? Does anyone have any experience using one of these or knowledge of the accuracy?

I stuck mine in a pan of boiling water when I first got it. It's pretty close, maybe only 2 to 5 degrees off. 210 does sound good for oil temps. Mine will run about 220 to 230 on a 90 degree day and after sitting in traffic. That's not to hot either. My C6 Corvette runs that high and it's a water cooled engine.

Mine runs in the 230's as well after a decent ride. Not as much stop and go as I try to avoid all the traffic I can.....

I am already considering an oil cooler to help lower the temp a little.....

210 for a stock bike sounds good. Mine with stage 1 runs about 220 on a mid 90's day.

I have a stage one A/C, V&H BigShots, a PCIII, and HD oil cooler # 26157-07 on my bike. My dip stick temp runs about 190-200 everyday.

I have found them to be pretty accurate. Best way to test YOURS is with boiling water. Then you'll know.
