Default Softail sidestand hole digger

Does anyone here have hole diggers on stock suspension Softails? The extreme outer point kills asphalt on sunny days, and leaves holes in old tough as nails highway pavement to new pavement.

I will not be lowering this bike 'cause the last one that I lowered tended to bottom out on speed reducing strips or road heaves, etc...

It is a pain to carry a coaster in my pocket. Not sure if this is normal on a Softail Custom or any other of the Softail family.

Your input is appreciated. It almost seems like the angle of the tip of the stand slopes in too far. Thinking of strapping a plate to the bottom.

Never had that problem on my bikes. If I did, I'd look at some heavy gauge stainless as a puck to throw in a pocket or my solo bag.

I'd check the local metal suppliers for scrap pieces you might pick up for next to nothing.

Never had the problem either.

Go to Home Depot and grab a few of the square electrical box covers.

After they repaved the parking lot at my house, mine sinks into the asphalt too. Not deep enough that it worries me. If it was my driveway or someplace that I'm responsible for upkeeping, I'd be concerned.

Thanks for the replies. I brought this up to the dealer last year and they gave a coaster, lol! If it isn't normal, I will add that back to my list as I need some waranty work done soon. I understand new asphalt, but it is sinking in primary highway grade pavement on a hot day. Just seem excessive. Even a 2x4 under it (like in the sig pic) has a sufficient lean angle. Just paved our driveway last fall and am not gonna fk it up. I am more concerned visiting people, etc. like "here's a reminder that I was here".

It's worse with forward control extensions, the angle increases.

Here's HDs solution, which works for me:

(Can't argue with the price either at 20% off of $6 for a useful item.)

Jiffy Stand Coaster

Designed for use beneath the jiffy stand, this polypropylene coaster prevents the stand from sinking into soft surfaces such as dirt, asphalt, and grass. Looks great in the garage, too, and comes with a molded-in hole for hanging and two Bar & Shield logos for style.

94647-98

Fits all motorcycles equipped with a sidestand.

MSRP US $5.95

Haha, that's what the dealer "gave" me. We got one for all our bikes 'cause of our driveway. At a bike rally last year, a vendor had a small coaster, just slightly bigger than the footprint of the stand that I keep in my riding jacket. If on soft ground or grass, I usually look for a stick or rock, etc. I just don't think they all do that.

Worried about the guest? Got your problem solved. Just serve them up a beer to down right away. Then they can crush the can and use it as a puck,
