I'm getting a c&c made now and I'll see how that changes things.
What would you estimate the cost of a shotgun would be and can it be done at home? I see they sell for about 1600.
Are they slot more comfortable?
Have you considered thicker soles on your boots? - Just kidding.
Comfort wise I'm told that Shotguns are the best, I have the Progressives and I like them just fine but I have not lowered the bike at all. You can also lower the front end as much as two inches to get a real seat height drop. Combined the with a custom seat and you could be down a good 3+ inches.
Hey, ya the plan is to see how the seat makes a difference and if I need more I'll do the shotguns.

I have to say after riding numerous suspensions and brands, I have come to the conclusion that the Shotgun shock is by far the best air ride made. When it comes to suspension, you get what you pay for. Lowering bolts? $100? You get a $100 ride. Progressive lowering shocks? You get a little better of a ride. You get my drift.
I don't know about you, but I bought a Harley Davidson as i wanted the best. Now that I have the bike I hook it up with the best products available for it.
Another option first is a C&C solo seat which i also run on my fatboy. It will lower you and move you back a tiny bit. Probably enough to make you a bit more comfortable. Here is a pic of my fatboy with the C&C seat and the Shotgun shock. I found that to achieve complete comfort in every way I had to buy quite a few aftermarket parts to make this bike exactly as it should be from the factory.
I sell all of the above mentioned products at a discount to forum members. If you ant pricing or have any questions please feel free to emauil me at DREW@DRVTWIN.COM

Call Dr. VTwin or J.D. direct for the best price. I got mine direct from J.D for quite a bit less than 16 bills, including shipping and I live in Japan, bro.

I have an '09 Fatboy that I lowered 1" using bolts in the back and the HD lowering kit for the front. Also put on a Fatboy Lo seat. At a whopping 5'5", I can easily sit with both feet flat on the ground. I have not had any problem scraping floorboards either, but I'm not the most aggressive leaner. Even leaning pretty far I still have decent clearance.
The bolts do the job, but it is a sacrifice in ride quality. It's a little rough at times. I was reluctant to invest in a more expensive solution, but if I were to do it again I'd consider the progressives or the Shotgun shock. The bolts are definitely the cheapo get it done dirty solution.
Shotgun shock???
Dr. V what exactly is this. I looked it up and it appears to be two shocks built as one unit and maybe has a air pump for adjustment. Is the air pump in the unit. What happens if the air leaks out?
