Default Slight wobble?

I've noticed it a few times that what I thought should be a smooth sweeping turn was a bit wobbly. I thought maybe it was inexperience when i first felt it.

Today I felt the same thing in places I've never had a problem before...I was doing 40 - 50 around some sweeping turns and even felt it a bit going straight. It subtle but there. Seems like it is coming from the rear wheel. I actaully looked back when I stopped to be sure I wasn't going flat. It's somewhat un settling.

Ideas?

Maybe try adjusting your rear suspension, and check your tire pressures...

Checking tire pressure was on the list for first thing tomorrow. I'll have to look in the book for rear suspension stuff.

Tire pressure is definatly the first place to start looking. If the pressure is good and you have a floor jack try jacking it off the floor and make sure the wheel is solidly mounted and the wheel and swing arm bearings have no side to side play in them.
If you don't find anything in back I would carefully inspect the front wheel and forks for the same low tire pressure as well as excessive bearing or fork tube play.
Don't forget the head bearings between the tripple trees. A little "extra" play in there and it can create all kinds of wierd handeling problems.
Just because it "felt" like a rear wheel problem, that doesn't mean its really caused by anything back there.

If you still have the laced wheels you might want to check that they are still true....

I had a simular problem on my FLSTC when it was new. Turned out to be the laced wheels. After allot of adjustments the wobble went away.........

Check out the spokes. I had the same thing happen to me and it drove me crazy until one day i read a post on here about this very same problem. I was amazed by how loose some-not all- of the spokes were. Seems other people have had the same thing happen in the past.

I have experienced the same thing on my 06 Fatty, air pressure has cured it thus far. I guess I will also check my laced wheels just to be sure.

Hmmm... Thanks for the ideas...I hadn't thought of the spokes. I was considering maybe a tire was out of round so that would fit with the spokes (lots of car experience just learning with the bike). I have just over 3500 miles now and no real problems.

Hubby thinks I'm nuts as usual so its all when it comes to checking it out. What is it about girls saying something is wrong and guys not believing them? I can't get him to ride my bike at all (that's ok with me unless I have a problem). The freakin car dealer does the same thing to me...last time I told them the rearend had gone out and they refused to believe me, I had to drive them around listening to the crunching. Had 4 fairly severe problems with that car that built up over time...took me a year to get them fixed because they thought I was just nuts.
