Now, with the top holes lined up, the bottom is held up by the cross bar hitting the fork cover (the cover right behind the headlight)

Default passin lamps on a fat boy

Deadwood
did you ever get those passing pamps to fit? How did you get it all to align?
was it just the spacers you needed for the fitment to be correct?

Hey Deadwood, I didn't install the same bar as you (bought a one piece cast version with the standoffs part of it) but when I went to install things didn't seem to line up. What I found was that you can't tighten any of the bolts for before all four are installed......also the tins (behind the headlight) move as soon as you remove the original bolts. They have slots that that are open from opposite directions and there's not much clearance between the fastener diameter and the slot opening. If you got a couple clamps (with rubber feet) or a friend (an extra set of hands) try squeezing the tins into place while you install the bolts. If you hit the edge of the slot in the tin it will fell like you are missing the hole pattern. Just try to adjust the tins to hit the opening.

Hope that helps!

No, I ended up getting a third lightbar (the correct one). Found out that pre-2007 lightbars don't fit the later models. BTW, I still have one of those for sale...cheap.

Default Thanks in advance

Great info guys. I'm about to reinstall the factory tins in place of the nacelle I'm removing and this will save me some time having all the correct fasteners in advance.

apologies for reopening this thread, but also having the same issues. No matter what I try, this bracket just will not fit. Before I purchased it, i triple checked with the dealer that it would fit my 2003 Fatboy and he assured me it would and we both read the specs and it certainly should. However as you can see from the photos, it does not. The 'bar' part of the bracket seems to hit the chrome 'narcelle' behind it, which stops the holes lining up. No matter how I jiggle it, it won't fit. I am 100% positive my bike is dead stock front end, so it's not some after market issue. I've rung the dealer and sent him the photos and all he can do is tell me it should fit , he's sold heaps of them and there has not been an issue before.
So, here's hoping someone on on this forum can use a fresh pair of eyes to see what is wrong with this?

Well, looking that that headlight shroud, or nacelle as you put it, looks different than the OEM one Harley uses. Looks like the one on your bike is puffy for lack of a better term. Take a look at the link I provided. Thats an OEM assembly.

. Fatboy Headlight Assy. - Harley Davidson Forums (hdforums.com)

Also not to mention Harley used a brushed aluminum cover that was OEM, not chrome, that looks to be aftermarket.

Well, you are mistaken, your front end is not 100% OEM.

The fork tins in the pic are aftermarket chrome parts, the OEM was brushed Stainless Steel.

I agree with 04FXDI and Dan89FLSTC. Your front end is not stock, hence why your headlight is in the way.

ok, i see your point. So, that means for reasons only known to the supplier, the chrome fork tin is somehow a different shape at the bottom from stock and hence hitting the cross bar of the passing lights bracket. How ridiculous.
So, i guess my options are now, either forget the whole thing, swap out the nice chrome fork cover for a stock brushed one, or cut up the bracket.
