I went with the a new blackline and love it. You might be paying more for the new bike but when and if you go to sell, it will always be worth more money. Plus with the bigger motor it will always be easier to sell, like having money in the bank. I've owned many HD's new & used, if something goes wrong with used it cost you money. If something goes wrong with new you have warranty. If I knew the 2012's were getting the 103 motor I would have definately waited for it. I say Go for the Brand New Blackline you won't regret it.

I read on another site, someone ordered a 2012 fatboy and the dealer hit him with a price increase. I think it was around $700, but dealer wasn't sure of exact amount until bike came in.

That's a pretty tough decision....I like the NT more than the Blackline though. You may want to ask yourself if you would always regret not having the NT. If not, then go with the new bike.

Ugh! I could not sleep last night. Buying a bike should not be so painful.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

For the NT votes, any idea on what a Heartland fender kit costs?

I like the Blackline but I wouldn't even consider one until there are some options to get rid of those bars and that back tire is too skinny. If you're gonna end up spending a bunch of money changing it anyway, I would go for the Train. Or you could go for a Rocker and do what Micahpop did https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...blackline.html

Is the 103, just a 103". I know buddies that did one of two things; One they added cams to the 96" and it made more power than the factory 103's. Two they did a 103 swap with cams and it was faster than the factory 103's and was covered buy dealer install. From all I know the factory 103 has regular cams and is not that much faster than a 96".

Me I like my 07 Train, the wide tire, blacked out wise the Blackline does not seem as black in the engine area, and if they make a denim one, will the oil tank be gloss black?

I like the Train, the Blackline will take some time to grow on me.

Who has had dealer service issues in the first two years? I have not. Maybe on the 80's to 90's Harleys a warranty was needed. But I would buy an older bike for less and take my chances. If I spend money to fix her up, she will come out better than factory for less.
