cleaning fatboy wheels

i have an 09 fatboy,what is the best way/product to clean out the brake dust that collects in the bullet holes on the wheels,i dont want to use anything that will damage the wheel.

Post whether you have the standard or the chrome wheel, and you'll get recommendations. Once cleaned, keep many coats of wax on the wheels, and the stuff comes off easily. I use Wet Paint Glaze on my chrome ones:

Meguiar's Hot Rims Wheel Cleaner, it is safe for aluminum and chrome, I keep my wheels shine all the time.

they are aluminum,i wish they were chrome,the surface is rough and i
have tried to scrub it out to no avail

You can clean the holes out easily with just a micro towel. I polish the smooth edge and inside hub with regular McGuire'e wax and just wipe the textured surface with a damp towel. Works great every time...

Small holes can be cleaned with a small brush. Look in the grocery store where they have all the kitchen utensils. They will have something. If not try a pet store, they will have the small brushes for cleaning the rubber tubing. Hope this helps.
