Default Heritage Weight Question

Okay, so my wife and I are consolidating from 2 bikes down to one and I'm curious if we'll be too heavy to ride 2 up on the Heritage.

Together we weigh about 540 pounds. Yes, I know, lose weight. I am, I used to weigh over 400 pounds...

Anyways, what's the verdict? Too heavy?

Thanks in advance...

With stock suspension, Yes, too heavy. There are upgrades that will make it work.

Keep up the good work in losing and before you know it, you won't have to worry about this.

Thanks. That's kind of what I figured.

Both our bikes are for sale, but of course mine ('09 EGC) is the one that's getting all the attention and I have a buyer for it. So we thought maybe we could 2-up on her Heritage.

Shotgun shock or Progressive 422HD for the rear.

Progressive HD fork springs and HD fork oil for the front end. Ask Progressive support about pre-load for the springs.

The MOCO says the GVW is 1160 lbs. and the bike is 760 lbs. with fluids so 400 lbs.

The book says with the preload at max the rear shocks can carry 360lbs safely. that is the number I would go with.
