Default now what?

i drained my primary on my 08 train let it drip for about ten min. on the jiffy...put it up on a floor jack to refill...let it drip more...put a bottle of 20-50 Amsoil ...put her back on the jiffy...the next morn. fired it up and there's a knocking sound...took it off the jiffy stood her upright the knocking is gone..
so i guess 1 quart is not enough?

the repair manual states:
32 oz. wet
40 oz. dry

i need some enlightenment...anybody educate me...

p.s.
i posted the same on the
primary/tranny forum but just got one gentleman to reply

I changed mine to Redline about a week ago and did some reading on here about it as well as reading the owner's manual and my service manual. I have an '06 so I don't know if yours is the same. My owner's manual says to add 26 oz. of fluid through the clutch inspection cover opening but also states that the fluid should be visible (with the bike upright) in the bottom of the chaincase but be no higher than the bottom of the diaphragm sping. I ended up putting in an entire quart. Did you add the fluid through the clutch inspection cover or primary chain inspection cover? Not that it matters where you add it,but you verify the level throrugh the inspection cover. When I was reading about this on here, one guy said that he had to put in a quart and then another 4 oz. to get to the correct level. Maybe you need a few more ounces.
