Hey Gang:

If I change my Primary Chain Oil why can't I addthe oilthrough the Primary Chain Inspection cover instead of the Clutch Inspection Cover like the Service manual says??

Thanks

You can, but it's very important to get the level just right, and you can only do that by removing the clutch inspection cover. Your owner's manual shows where the level should be.

Your owner's manual shows where the level should be.
And the manual also gives an amount. Some people just add in what the manual says. For an example the TC88 manual says 1 qt when the primary has just been drained but the picture shows the level up to the bottom of the clutch spring. This will take about another 4-6 oz. if i'm correct.
There are a lot of posts about this ,do a search.

I pull off both cover, to check everything out, and adjust the chain (if need be). There is no problem adding the oil through the chain inspection cover, but I leave the derby cover off just to check the level.
