I thought the silver with the silver painted frame was the first Fatboy color?

No not at all actually! Fatboy Lo is still in the cards! Im just trying to figure out the cost and vision and end result. If i go with the Lo the mods will be different, Mainly replacing the matt silver color parts with black. If i go with the regular Fatboy it will be trying to put more black on it! I like both just tring to figure out what one is going to cost more to get it the way i want it! I was thinking the fatboy will be cheaper just because its already 400 cheaper from the factory which to me does not make sense and pwder coating parts is pretty cheap!

HDFLSTF ...... How remiss of me and you steamed in there on a technicality well done you!.... Let's rephrase that another way then out of the Black paint options the vivid was first and the denim came along some time later and will always be second to a highly polished Vivid black with chrome ....... and it will draw more attention .... how's that then! .....

Get the Fatboy in Vivid Black like duh and use windex on your chrome if you don't feel like polishing it all day.

Anything is possible with powdercoating. Question you need to ask yourself is how far are you willing to go and what is the final end result.

Do you want a Black Betty that is totally blacked out? Or do you want a Black out Fatty with a little bit of a Chrome ***** addiction?

You want my opinion....its bias. I'd go with the Lo.
It sits lower to the ground stock....keep your feet flat on the ground for better control.
The blacked out components it already has are of satin nature and not the wrinkle that you would find on a Train.
I liked the feel of the bars better, but you are already considering changing them out.
The wheels come black. You already priced the powdercoating of the wheels....but are you gonna dismount and remount and balance the tire and rim yourself? Probably not, so you have to keep that labor cost in mind as well.
I personally like the polished look over the chrome. That is a personal choice everyone has to make. Either one cleans up easily. Windex will be your new best friend.

Other than cosmetic and stance, the bikes are the same. Same motor, same tranny, same tires, same tins, same wheels. Just different colors. So it really comes down to seats and bars and height. Maybe consider your personal height as a helping factor since air ride suspension isn't top on your list.....

You're moanin about cost. Don't buy a Harley if your trying to cut costs. You decide which bike is for you, buy it, mod it and ride it. If you don't have the money buy Jap crap. How could you let cost decide what bike is right for you. It's about looks, feel, and fit.

"Which one would be nicer in the end with Mods and easier to do?"

Bought a new brilliant silver pearl Fat Boy Lo last month to replace a black-and-chrome '06 model that got wrecked.
Personally, I love the "satin chrome" finish on the bike. It's different.

Black powdercoated the following: Standard Fat Boy handlebar on 4" pullback risers, layback license plate, gear shift linkage, and the rear brake lever. Powdercoated in "satin chrome" a hefty visor-style headlight trim ring and then inserted a black LED headlamp. Flush mount black fuel cap and gas gauge, brake and clutch levers, oil dipstick cap and black SE slip-on exhaust pipes covered in the satin chrome shields. It all comes together nicely and is much different from the countless "black-and-chrome" cruisers on the road.

Just my preference. Good luck with your decision.

Hey Mcdonder. Check this out. I just learned how to do it 2 hours ago after months of not being able to post pics. I have Snarley to thank. I have a Mac and all you do is open up your photo bucket account. Click on image. Not the top where you check, but the bottom where it says image, ( the bottom box below 'direct link' and 'html' ... Then drag it over to your post box and drop it in there. Done. You're ready to submit post.
