Has anyone tried fitting the Harley Davidson Trim Ring part #69973-08 to their factory Rocker headlight?
I bought one from the dealer at the weekend and spent about 2 hours trying to get it to fit, had a 1/4" gap at the join at the bottom couldnt get it to close up.
Took it back to the dealer this morning they tried to fit it and had the same problem.
Theyre going to get another one in and see if its the same, failing that they are going to refund my money.
Yep and the gap is normal for that trim ring. I tried many times to get rid of the gap with no success.
It's sitting on a shelf in the garage gathering dust.
I'm running a HD Bullet head light now.
I had the gap too, so big that I couldn't even get the bolt started. Took it to my dealer and they charged me $20 and stuck it in front of the lip on the bucket telling me that was how it is supposed to mount. Don't know what they thought was going to keep the lamp from falling out but needless to say I will never go back to them. I ended up just getting the cobra II headlight and am happy with it.
HD whent off and made just about everything in the FXCW's a custom size. Making it Difficult to fit stock parts onto it.. Unless you have a little bit of an imagination.
Im trying to keep track of the small changes that need to be made to fit stock parts to these bikes. Ill be posting it up at some point. this i will add to it.
