Just for info: All HD's with floorboards are FL models. Foot pegs are FX or in the case of sportsters XL. Of coarse everything changes with V-rods.

No disrespect, but...

I thought the FL and FX, designations refer to the front end?

Although, indirectly...you may be correct about the boards.

I did put in the SE 255s on my 96
Results are good
lot better punch at any speed
got a little low spot at 2800 i would guess
But i am an old guy and not racing it


I had the cams laying around too


Next cams for the new 106 SnS will be the woods 555s
and back to stock pushrods

Yes, narrow tire but WIDE Forks..........As I said previously, FX=pegs..........FL=footboards.

The rake of the front end is wide but the fork tubes themselves are narrow like on a super glide, deuce or softail standard for example.

You are dead on refers to the front end. Search google for harley abbreviations and you will see all kinds of info on this.

X is Naked narrow and wideglide forks
L is the Fatter forks with larger headlights
Springers are listed as an FX--S

Some springers are FL's. The Heritage Softail Springer for example because of the 16" fat front tire.
