Default HERITAGE SPRINGER Vs. ROADKING

The old lady and i are looking for a new ride, she likes the roadking and i like the heritage springer, (i know they dont make the heritage springer any more.)
will the springer be as good for two up riding as the roadking, we dont do alot of touring, mostly day trips, 100 miles at the most. I do more riding by myself.

Either bike will work for short day trips. Although I prefer the Springer (since I own one). The Road King will ride smoother. The Softail isn't the best riding platform, although I will try to improve mine with some Progressive shocks. I just think the Road King is better on the highway. My Softail is great for tripping around town. It's easy to maneuver and fairly light weight.

Went on a 600 mile ride last weekend. Had a Road King and a Heritage Springer with us (I ride a Heritage). If you're doing two up riding I'd say the Road King would be your bike. Although a 600 mile weekend wouldn't be too much for either of them. I guess it's up to you and how many miles you want to lay down in a day.

Like Gman said the Road King will be better for two up.

Many people have said that you sit on a Road King and you sit in a Softail. You are going to have a bit more wiggle room in the RK.

Thats like comparing apples to oranges. Road King is built for touring. Me and my wife have takin several 2000+ miles trips on the our Springer Classic although its not a big as the road king you can still set it up to be pretty comfy.

my springer takes bumpy roads like sheet, it can get nasty even,, vs my buddies riding their dynas by me on those roads, if you live in a bumpy winding road area.. road king.. if you dont care about the ride and want the look,, then go springer...

I can ride 1000 miles a day on my Heritage Springer and I can 2-up just as well. I haven't ridden a RK, but I wouldn't trade out my Heritage Springer for anything.

You didn't say anything about your size, which could be a factor. The RK is a bit heavier but much better for touring. The Springer has a great look too and if you're not going any further than 100 miles, it should be fine. You probably need to base your decision on what you can handle and which look you prefer.
