While in Sturgis a last week I had a check engine light come on for 10 seconds and go out, but that happened everytime I started the bike. The bike ran fine. I took the bike to Black Hills HD and had them check it out. They told me that those two historic error codes had been cleared and everything should be fine. Both codes indicated a front and rear no combustion EFI incident. I rode the bike a 1000 miles South to Springdale, AR when the check engine light blipped again and then started the same 10 second routine. Rode the bike home to NW Louisiana without an incident.
I checked the error code myself and came up with the 1353 & 1356 code again. I cleared both codes and no more check engine light was seen.
So, what the heck is going on. Something is out of whack or the light would not be coming on. I am thinking it might be a bad coil, ecm, possibly a battery ground cable. I now have close to 50,000 miles on the bike and engine. Had the Screaming Eagle chain tensioner kit put in just before I left 12 days ago, but I am sure that is not a problem. On one occasion while under acceleration the engine seemed to cut off, but only for a second. When the Check engine light came on the second time I was coming up to a stop sign after several hours or riding and the light came on at idle.
