Pipes work and sound great. But the new pipes come with their own mounting bracket. The stock mounting bracket was removed per the instructions. Well the stock bracket mounted under the pass footpeg frame mount. So I now lost 1 1/2 inches between the frame and the pass peg. I need that back cause my detach sadd bags mounted off that as well. It was Frame - stock mount - sadd bag mount - footpeg. I need a spacer to bring the footpeg out 1 1/2 inches. How can I solve this?
it is a 3/8" bolt and 1" diameter spacer that is 1 1/2" deep. in black or chrome.
Here is what I did. I built up the space with 15 SS washers. I glued them together. Bondo'ed them to give them a smooth finish. Painted them. Looks great. just wich I can get a spacer to have avoided this.
Ok, So the pipes have had a few miles on them now. I love the look and reduced weight. I look at the old stock pipes on my garage floor and still can not believe how heave they are.
Sound is bang on. They give the bang I was looking for. It does rumble. I do notice that there is a little off throttle popping. Not essentially backfire cause it is not that loud. But when I do roll off the throttle and idle to a light I do once and a while hear a little less than desired popping. Not the end of the world. Just wanted to know if this is normal.
