Be very careful about going to a more powerful bulb. I tried one that was on the shelf at the local dealer because the stock just doesn't cut it, and next thing you know I've got some melted connectors... I just bought a H4 but haven't got it in yet.

I set it at 35" center on the wall at 25' away with my gf on the bike with me. The HD SM said to pick what you do most of , solo or 2 up and set it accordingly. It seems like my high beam (where it's set at 35") works great but the low beam is right in front of the bike. I will check the reflector. Clunk is gone , rode 150 miles today and didn't clunk once.

I have progressive 413's on the back and they are as stiff as I can set them.

You can't go wrong with the LED bulb. It's easily twice as bright at night as the factory bulb was and covers twice the road to the side in front of you as well. I only have the one bulb in front so I keep the high-beams on full time in the daylight. Never been flashed. The bulb runs much cooler than the stock bulb as well. The light from it is a lot whiter light too. Honestly...if you get the bulb...you'll wonder why they don't put them in all the new bikes as standard safety bulbs. They're really that much better. Good luck!

When I got the new reflector I adjusted mine similar distance and eyeballed the center of the bright spot as they refer. Mine's fine pretty far out for 60 mph speed or so. I did knock it down a tad since on bright it was into the overhead signs, so I may have had it a tad high. You may want to carefully bump it up slightly. I guess going from two up to one makes a pretty big difference and you do not want to be blinding the cagers. Is yours the small replacement bulb and separate headlight glass? Have added adjust head bearing to my list for winter.

Yes it has the bulb held in with two metal clips and the glass is separate. I did have to replace the plug when I got the bike , it was burnt and once in awhile when on low beam the high beam indicator would pop on to let me know my light wasn't working. I would have no light on high or low , glad I found it during the day and close to home. Got a new plug harness and all was good.
