Default screaming Eagle plug wires

Hi Everyone, got some of these from a friend, who changed his mind about fitting them, they were for his 07 Dyna, tried em on my 09 Fatboy and fit ok, rear slightly longer but looks fine, noticed that Harley list a different part number for the softail, am i right in assuming they will work the same? or could i do damage, only reason i want them is i think they look good in orange.

I can't say for a fact, but yeah, I'm pretty sure you're safe. As long as they fit properly, I wouldn't worry about it. As you said, one seems a little longer, that would be the reason for the different part number.

Its a different wire, not for your bike. I dont know about what damage it would do, but theres a reason for the difference, could just be fitment, who knows.

The Dyna ignition coil is mounted under the seat so the front wire has to be a little longer than the rear. Putting them on a softail will be fine, as long as the boot clips on properly it will run fine it just might look a little funny being lopsided.

+1 You should be fine. I moved my coil, reversed the coil firing order, and am running non-HD wires. A plug wire is a plug wire. If boots fit snug, nothing is stretched too tight, and there isn't anything to create any wierd resistance (ie those neon tube things) then all should be good.

the only difference would be lengths i would think, there only spark plug leads, just thicker, they cant damage anything
i have red 12mm SE leads on mine

Pre-made Screaming Eagle plug wires are the same no matter which bike they are for. The only difference is the length. They are also not much better than stock.

Any set of plug wires will perform adequate up to 50 horsepower 5500 rpm limit. To help with the torque dip in the stock lean jetted motor or help overall with a higher output motor, check out spiral core wires. They will deliver much more spark to your plugs with a lot less leakage and have about 1/10th the resistance of standard carbon core suppression wires. Most peeps spend money without even thinking about it on bigger coils and then just buy the prettiest fattest wire they find (if they change wires at all) instead of putting something on there that will help deliver that spark all the way to the plugs.

Don't want to steal this thread, but how often do you guys change plug wires. I have 30,000 miles on my 99 FXSTC, but it is 12 years old. Pretty sure they are the originals.

I actually spoke to my dealer about these wires and he basically told me not to waste my money on them. Said there's really not much difference as long as your running the stock coil so you should be fine....
