Anybody ridden a 5speed and 6speed? What are the biggest differences you noticed?

One more gear.

Sorry !! had to.

The 09 96" Street Glide I rode a few yrs ago was geared nice.
The 07 was too tall (6th - 2500 rpm @ 70 mph),
The 09 was 2700 @ 70.

99 EVO Heritage. 5 speed. Was some pretty high rpms at 80. 07 TC Heritage. 6 speed. Nice cruising at 80. And the difference between the two bikes is phenomenal. I like the 07 6 speed.

They shift pretty much the same but it is nice to have the lower rpm's on the freeway. Even with loud pipes it's quiet.

Seems like I'm always trying to grab another gear on the freeway. Wish I had the 6 speed.

I own both. Yes, my '07 is way tall, but still OK. Nice to know I can go on the interstate & not kill my motor at high speeds.

Only problem with the 6 speed is I always forget what gear I'm in.

I use 6th as an overdrive I guess, cause I don't use it till 65mph.

6 speed will get better gas mileage in 6th (Overdrive) but does not need to shift to 6th until about 80 mph in stock form.
