Default Fuel Pump Question

I just changed the bars and rewired the rear lighting (among other things) on my bike and I'm about to reinstall the gas tank (w/o securing it yet) and reconnect everything so I can do a mock up and make sure the electrical system works the way it's supposed to before I bolt the tank down, but it doesn't have any fuel in it yet and I thought I read that turning your ignition switch on and running the fuel pump without any fuel in it will kill the pump. Any truth to this?

Aaah never mind. I'll just pull the fuel pump fuse. Shoulda thought of that before.
