So before you guys yell at me, I've learned my lesson! Now I'm trying to fix it. I went to the cart wash and used the spot free rinse. I've never had trouble and it always worked perfect for me, but this was first time I took my bike. I know not to use use the high pressure wash as it can cause a lot of damage but the low pressure must of the spot free seemed harmless enough. Now on my valve covers I have a white residue like looks like hard water from hell. I've tried washing it again by hand but I can't get this crap off.
Ive been working on this for dyas and the mothers polish did work but only barely and not everywhere. There are some spots I can wipe it on and rub a little and it comes mostly off, but there are other spots that the rotary tool won't even break through.
Does the aluminum have a clear coat on it or is it just polished? I'm thinking I'd almost be better off pulling the parts off and powdercoating them all gloss black. But how hard is taking the rocker cover off to get them worked on? I figure if I did that though I'd do the primary, tranny cover, and pushrod tubes too. Ideas?
