Default help!! how do i....

Well I need some help. I need to figure out how to pull the tank off on am 06 heritage. I am tryin to install a new set of bullet turn signal lights on front light bar and apparently the connector is up under the tank. I don't want to cut and splice the wires . I removed the rear tank bolt under seat and the bolt that runs cross ways down in front of tank. It still acts like something is holding it. I'm sure a service manual would show how but I bought a service manual from a forum member over a week ago and its yet to show up. Apparently post office screwed up ? Any way any help would b appreciated. Thanks

All you need to do is unhook the gas line, unbolt the front of the tank, and loosen the rear tank bolt. Then lift the tank up by the front (being careful not to break the crossover under the front of the tank) The plug for passing lamps is on the left side (not exhaust side) near the front of the tank on the backbone.

I traced them down and with a flashlight and a screw driver to push the rubber seal out of the way I could just barely see it. Standing on my head of course. So the fuel line is all that needs removed ? I didn't remove cross over line but it felt that it was hitting something long before gettin close to it. Thanks Drew for info. U have a sweet bike btw. One of my favorites.

Drew

Thats how I did it (per Drew's advise in a prior post) on my Fatboy and it worked out perfectly. I actually as a precaution put some painters tape on the area I was working near as well to prevent accidental scratches. Just as a side note.

Drew - you're da man! Thanks

Got the tank off and lights swapped out. Fuel supply line was holding me up. Thanks again.

I think everyone needs the service manual.

Should include them with the purchase.
