It's obvious that the Iceman didn't do any research before his purchase and also isn't familiar with Harley's in general. That being said...the MoCo is the last place to look for accessories that will make your bike unique and "yours". They are always following the aftermarket industry when it comes to add-ons for our bikes. As far as your "parts guy" is concerned, find a new one. He, apparently, is not qualified to advise you on parts compatibility and/or availability.

Plus in about a month or so youwill start to see plenty of pics of Blacklines with lots o changes. By the way my pics earlier in this thread include after market pegs and other parts that needed a "solution" to fit perfect. In most cases it was few bucks on bolts and washers that my dealer came up with and installed for me. In the case of the pegs I even bought them elsewhere and they put them on and made them work for me.
I stand by the statement that you are working with the wrong shop.

Since the topic is dealers giving false information. I want to get your opinions on a more of an ethical concern.

Do you guys consider it to be ethical, to order harley parts from the internet and ask the dealer (who sells the same parts for more money) to install them for regular service fees?

I would not ask that. It costs a lot to have a store front and the bills plus labor to be there to sell that same item. My dealer was happy to install stuff I bought that they could not find though.

Im just trying to put V&H short shots on my 2012 Blackline, they told me that I have to wait until an aftermarket O2 adapter comes in on back order from Drag Specialties. Im kinda pissed beacuse I wanted to do the stage one and the race tuner with the exhaust. Now Im waiting and it sucks.

They changed the O2 sensor from 2 wire to 4 wire for 2012. Might have caused a size change.

Wake up, the harley shop doesnt make any good aftermarket items anyways! All the good stuff will come from aftermarket accessories. The handlebars are a little bit more difficult, but some company will be spitting out items for it. I've seen a few people on here that have customized their own handle bars and they look sweet. Everything harley makes for aftermarket is all junk. You have one of the coolest bikes to be made this year. dont sweat it

I asked for a price quote for the detachable saddlebags. they told me it would cost 1.700 usd. the price for the saddlebags is 650-700 and I live outside the US. so it's ok for them to be expensive but, knowing I can get them for 1000-1200 dolars including shipping and handling, the numbers being this steep, I find it hard to buy anything from them. and it's the same with everything they sell.

Buy em online and install them yourself for a huge savings.

I disagree with Green Hornet. Sure not everything HD makes is the best part/s out there, but to claim everything they sell is junk is BS.
