Default Need a little help broken front brake light switch

Today I bought and put on chrome switch covers. Everything went well until i put the brake lever side on. I failed to follow the instructions about placing something between the brake lever and front brake light switch. I broke the end off of the brake light switch and have no brake lights now with the front brake. I looked it up on JP cycles and found the replacement but it says it fits up to a 2009. I have a '10 Heritage.
Just wondering if anyone else had done this and how much trouble was it to replace the switch and is it something you have to get from Harley?
Here is the link to JP on the switch they have.
UPDATE.....i did a little search and found some info..Just need to know if anyone has used the switch from JP Cycles.

I have replaced the swtich covers a few times but never broken the brake light switch. I would not think the switch would be that difficult to change out, but I would buy the switch from Harley if it was me. That way you will not have any problems with fitment. Did you leave out the copper shim?

I would repost this as "Broken brake switch Help?" Because there are a few people here who have done the same thing and there is a way to fix it with out having to buy a new switch. Good luck..
