Poor MPG
I have a 02 Heritage EFI with 26,000 miles on it. I put on Python Slip ons, the stage one kit, and the Fuel Moto EFI tuner. Just a week ago I had to install new cams, and put in SE 220. Before all this work I was getting a minimum of 40 MPG and over 200 miles on the trip meter before I had to look for gas. Now I am getting 28 MPG or just over 100 miles before needing fuel. Any thoughts on what is going on?
Yesterday I filled up with 3.506 gallons of gas and I had exactly 100 miles on the trip meter.
Frustrated is the politically correct term I can come up with at the moment.

Posts like this crack me up. The bottom line that HDs are underpowered are that they are tuned VERY lean to meet emssions. When you add perf parts, and especially the tuner, you are making the engine run richer (MORE FUEL) which makes more HP. The way you get HP is more air/gas in = more air out, which again = more HP
An engine is like an air pump. More in with more out = HP
Dont trust your est MPG though: The only way you can really get true MPG is to drain the tank completley empty, put exactly 1 gallon of gas and ride until the bike dies

Best regards...........
no offense, but that sounds like a BIG PITA to me
I'd suggest an easier (though will take longer and lots more miles) to gauge accurate mileage, is to fill up at the same pump, with bike in same position on the stand and same fill level thru several tanks full.
same pump and same bike position on the stand takes different uneven/sloped lots out of the equation.
as long as you're not running the chit of it for one tank full and driving like miss Daisy on second tank full, by the third and forth tank full you'll know accurately what you practical mileage is to the ounce
