I was just out looking at the sled, and it appears the rear brake is set up with an inline pressure switch to activate the light. The switch is mounted at the rear of the frame, just in front of the exhaust mounting point. It might be possible to run a similar setup for the front and mount the pressure switch to the bottom of the tree where it currently transitions from hard line to soft? Just an idea, not sure of all the intricacies, but it might work.
Oh, and if you see Russel again, tell him the exhaust mounting bracket for his "bolt on" softail pipes interferes with the mounting bolt for this pressure switch. Had to counterbore the back side of the bracket to make it work. Not a huge problem, but a big PITA!
I have already thought about adding a switch down by the triple tree. It seems that might be the only real way to do this. thanks for the ideas and keep them coming.
I put mine under the tank, left side of frame. It's a tight fit, just have to be creative with the wiring harnesses. Used some Velcro to fasten it.
Located mine in the same spot before even seeing this.
What about wiring the brake light wires.
I have a red/yellow stripe and orange/wite stripe coming from the brake light switch. Where am I going to wire these to?
Also my new joker machine controls were ordered with a brake light switch. will I jsut be wiring the existing wires to the new hand controls?

Yes, the new switch should have 2 wires, a brown and blue IIRC, the brown goes to the red/yl and the blue to the or/wh? Check your directions, I might be backwards, but you get the jist.

I have a 2013 48 and ran into the same problem plus on top of that there is a clutch switch on the left side did you manage to come up with any solutions
