Nice job on the bike!! I like the front end the way it is. From the chrome ring on the front wheel flows to the front end, right into the speedo and to the chrome struts on the back. Then down the side of the bike from the front end to the motor and oil tank to the struts. The chrome makes it pop I think. Very nice job.

Thanks so much, everyone, for all the props and kudos! I learned a great deal from the entire experience. I can be pretty handy with a wrench when I want to, but there were some days when I just didn't want to work on 'er, so I just didn't and that is one of the reasons it took me so long. The first part of the project - getting wheels, shocks and apes on went fairly smooth and was rather fun, but after that I seemed to run into something almost every time I'd go out and work on 'er, that didn't go my way. It was frustrating, but it caused me to think things thru and use some ingenuity, which is something it seems I haven't done in a really long time. Good life lessons, here. Today, I got to change a flat tire on my kid's bicycle - finally, something easy! LOL. Thanks again, dudes. A lot of other sick bikes on this board that mine doesn't even hold a candle to...

EDIT:
There are quite a few opinions that I should black out the front end, but I was actually thinking of getting chrome lowers, eventually. I was talking about blacking out a some select parts on the front end and even the oil tank on this forum, before beginning this project, but most opinions were against it at the time. Have to rethink this. Hmmm...

I have to disagree on the plug wires. The copper paint actually has an orange tint to it. In fact, a lot of people seem to recall my bike being orange. Also, if you look closely, you can see an orange pinstripe going around all the painted black panels. Braided chrome plug wires could be cool, tho.
I do need to replace a lot of my bolts, nuts and hardware with chrome. That's gonna be a "here a little, there a little" project for later.
And yeah, I'll think about the flush mount caps. Thought about it before, but not enough to make me pull the trigger yet...thanks again.

Kool Lines in Florida can make a set of copper colored wires that will match your paint. Robin made a set for me that I really like.

even though i'm not crazy about the fender , the whole bike looks fantastic and if i saw it on the street or at a bike show i'd give it second and even third looks . very nice work , and congratz on knowing when to put down the tools and walk away , i find that really hard !

and imho either go black or chrome on the front end (either would look great) , stock always looks unfinished and undecided to me .

Love what you have done with the bike. The wheels look great. The rear fender not my style but it looks good.
