Default Side Mount License Plate

Wondering if anybody can point me to who makes a good side mount plate bracket?

I see several chrome versions from Arlen Ness, etc. But I'm looking for something in black or crinkle to match my train...

Look at the one's Kuryakyn has, I just put on on my deuce without the brake light. They make some products for HD and they look good. Maybe try Dennis Kirk.com

I used the Kuryakyn side mount.

You can scuff the chrome and paint it with wrinkle black spray paint.

I found these on EBAY. I'm waiting on doing the hogpro rear fender so I can move the tail light & license plate at the same time

Chopper did you lower the rear end? I don't want to have the big gap below the tail light. That is why I want to change the fender and brake light..

I was in the same boat. I didn't want a chrome mount, and I also didn't want to spend big $$. I ended up making a side-mount for mine. Cost me only for the chrome hardware, as I had the steel in the garage. It took me about 1/2 hour or so to make the thing. Currently there is no light, but I'm looking at ways to deal with that. It's been there for 3-4 months now, and so far, no trouble with John Law.

For the original 'billboard' under the taillight, I simply cut it, leaving a small lip under the plate to keep some spray out of the bottom of the light. Looks very custom, cost almost nothing- That's my kind of modification!

Curious about that tail light setup as I'm looking around for a nice LED setup that uses the original mounting.
I need to keep it for the rack I already put on.
So if you don't mind some questions, first of all is it a LED?
If it is, is it better/brighter than the origail 1157 bulb, and are you satisfied with it?
If you are who made it, how much, and where did you get it?

Thanks [sm=hail.gif]

I spent some time looking at all the side mount plates and I don't think I ever saw a black one. But then again I wasn't looking for one. This is what I came up with from Heartland:
