I just bought one yesterday..traded my superglide in for it. I love the bike..The only thing is when they started it to pull it out I almost laughed the thing sounds like a honda. Oh and the other thing if you like the "shake" of your FXD then you wont like this bike. As far as the 6 speed you will notice you are looking for that 6Th gear but as far as it running on the freeway I took it out yesterday and I cruised at 80 and she ran great. By next weekend I will have the Vance & hines fishtails and the stage 1 done so it should make a huge difference. My thoughts BUY IT they are few and far between and you get thumbs up every where you go.
My buddie has a Deluxe with the 6 speed. He only runs a few rpms lower on the highway then I do. Not a hugh difference. I can run down the highway at 90mph all day long with no problems with my 5 speed. If you buy it and don't like the 5 speed, you can always buy the gear set from companies like baker or screamin eagle or a slew of others.
I wouldn't let the 88 or 5 speed bother me Tony, you could cruise forever with that set up. Plenty enough there to get you in trouble. That bike is clean as hell, I got up under it and the cases weren't even dirty.Someone took good care of that bike. You very rarely see that color combo either.
Your ride looks great! I'm curious, are those OE or Aftermarket handlebars? If they're aftermarket can you tell me who makes them?
Thanks.
i believe they are aftermarket beach bars...(i could be wrong though) as for who makes them i wouldn't be able to tell you because i bought the bike like that. though i just purchased the burly bikini bars to get more of a pullback so i'll be selling these bars soon.
