I was hoping someone out there knows if I am able to use a 200mm tire on my 2004 CVO deuce. The stock rear tire is a 180mm. I see on the forum that with some adjusting belt pulley etc it can be done but that may be descibing a 160mm to 200mm mod??. What I am hoping to find out is if my stock set up allows for a 200mm tire/rim to be installed with no mods. Thanks in advance for the replies. ride safe

Are you sure it has a stock 180. I wouldn't have thought the stock rear would be any wider then a 150. That's what my 2005 CVO Fat Boy has.

a couple things, do you ride two up? if you do, I don't recommend it. you will have to cut the inside fender braces to clear the tire, this will weaken the fender as far as supporting a passenger the next thing you have to do is space the sprocket out from the wheel, about .187" drag makes the spacer to do this, that should be about all necessary you will have to check for clearence, the other thing is I don't think that wheel will take a 200mm tire, needs a 5.5" rim in an 18" dia. not sure you will even find a 200 in a 17" but all the info given you is for an 18" never even tried the 17. good luck
I think you are stuck with the 180. Hog pro makes a kit to fit a 200 which includes a narrower belt (9mm), different wheel, pulley etc. For a regular Deuce, which comes with a 160, you can move up to 180 with a stock setup. Both the CVO and FXSTDI have the same rear wheel, and recommended rear wheel width for a 200 is 5.5in. This is all from my personal research as i'm looking to go wider on my FXSTDI, so i'm not speaking from experience here, just from what I've found. I could be wrong.

I have the 180, but am limited by the fact that I have the drive side brake, without doing that I can get a 200 in there, but it does have to be an 18x5.5
how? wheel speed is determined by wheel dia. not width
Not turn like spinning. Going into a turn a narrow tire will tilt side to side faster then a wider tire. A wide tie is great for straight line stability but for quick turns, the narrow tire is better.
