Fresh out of the box and now it all begins....

I, myself in the middle of deciding what bars...I thought the fenders were a journey trying to decide a direction. The bars are more involved...imagining cool and now throwing comfort factor in, it's feels bit of a crap shoot. Wild 1 site is awesome...great pics for the imagination and other support. To bad they don't offer 1.5"...but great looking bars and I luv the fact that they detail all dimensions including wrist angle.

GL on making her your own.

Cheers

Beware of the dyno sheet thread in the tech section haha...that will have u planning your stages in no time. Thank gawd my uncle is good buddies with our dealership owner, I just went all SE and didnt have to worry much....I got great support and confidence in my back pocket now even though a few lbs of torque is missing by not going aftermarket.

My bike came with stage 1 goodies with fuel pack. For a few hundred bucks, I should of just went for a performance tuner right off the start. I had no clue what I was getting into until I actually rode the bike. Now a few grande after...I got the stage 2 goodies and am luving the big pulls.

Anyways, what I learned right off the bat is that google is your best friend and plan ahead. Wasted effort on parts I am trying my best to avoid. My gut is telling me once I am done with my eye candy in a year or so, my 103 stuff may go back in the box for a bigger bore and support....and my dealership will luv me for that:P Point is our bike evolutions can be quite the evolving process...and you are already showing signs of diving in heh.

As of now, I am touching and my heels are only slightly off the ground, 1 inch lower from the seat, plus having my actual riding boots on should be fine.
You'll be fine. If you lower your bike, then it will reduce your limited ground clearance in the twisties even more. It's already too easy to scrape the floorboards.

Try the seat and bar mods first and ride for a while before doing anything drastic.

Actually, doesn't bother me, works both ways.....I never have to put up scaffolding for example....lol!

As far as all the other stuff, you guys have managed to confuse me even more! I'd really like to change the bars, but I'm guessing labour would be ridiculous, considering the internal wiring and ABS. I don't want to tackle it myself, because our season is so short, I'm looking forward to picking it up from the dealer done, and just ride for the summer. Someone mentioned the 4" pullbacks can go on without any of the hassle, it would give me an inch......

And as far as lowering it, I get conflicting info, some say go for it, others say it will really affect cornering. I should add that the wife would be on the back with me occasionally for short hauls. She is taking the nightster I bought this summer, but she likes to be a passenger once in a while too!
