My 07 Heritage is giveing the codep p0151 and but the pump sounds like an air hose and it runs like it's not getting enough or maybe to much gas.
need some anser's before I take it in and ge riped from my local HD shop.
I believe that the code simply means an O2 sensor out of range (the rear one I think...) but you should be getting the code for both of them if what I'm going to say is true.
Have your fuel pressure checked when your gas tank is less than 1/4 full. If it is low, the hose inside the tank has a hole in it from your description. That would cause the bike to run lean which might be why you are getting the sensor code.
Otherwise, you might have a bad wire or bad O2 sensor.
It sounds like your gas line inside the tank is suffering from the dreaded pinhole in the gas line possibly. How is the bike running?

Hard to start try's to die pop's gag's and like i said when i turn the run butten it sounds more like an air hose than the little wis sound it used to make. Thanks for your time
Does the way it runs vary depending on the amount of fuel in the tank? When i had a pin hole in the in tank fuel line it would run fine until a certain level in the tank when the pinhole was no longer in the gas and then it ran like crap.
Bet it the pin hole in the fuel line, Mine an 07 did the same thing this summer as two other friends did also.
Mine would run fine with a full tank, but around 90-100 miles she'd start running like chit. Refill the tank and again run perfect..
I had a dealer do it as I was on vacation and 550 miles from home...
They did everything inside the tank new, think it was two hoses, filter, o-rings, gaskets, check valve and assembly kit. New screws, test ride and reset all codes.. Mine had a bunch of codes coming up.
All parts was $170. and $140 labor to install..
Its been 4K since Ive had it done and its been perfect since,
The wrench said its the Ethanol in the gas that's causing most of the problem as they are seeing more and more of this issue..
Ethanol can NOT cause pin holes or holes of any sort for that matter in plastics. It CAN cause plastics (Nitrile/Buna-n) that are designed to run in gasoline to swell and get soft, but then only if/when the concentration becomes significantly greater than 10%. Even then, using Viton instead of Nitrile solves this issue. There are many arguments for and against Ethanol, but this isn't one of the arguments against Ethanol use that is accurate.
