I'm looking at a 2009 Heritage Softail that has a H-D custom paint job, 59 of 200. Does this add anything to the trade-in or retail value? If so, how much?
Kind of like tricking out a VW, you have to wait for someone that wants to pay the extra dollars for what you have put into it. But it is a sweet looking ride.

Generally custom paint or 2 tone paint hurts the resale value of a Harley. Black has the best resale. Colors are harder to sell because the buyer or buyers seldom agree on what is a good color. You can line up 100 men and women and ask them about black, and 99 of them will say yes, show the same 100 a wine, or apple green, or rootbeer, white, etc, you wont get 20 0f them to aggree on what to buy. Any skull theme like you are looking at realy kills the buyers market.

Not a penny, my ride has a limited set (700 made and all bikes where shipped overseas to Germany) the only added value (to me) is that there are only 4 like mine in the American continent... other than that, nothing, nada, zip!
