Default Beach Bars Slipping

I called my Indy today to see how he's getting on with installing my parts,
Fat spokes, Cholo's and Burly Beach bars, he's nearly done, just waiting on some polished Stainless wheel spacers to come back, he said it wouldnt be right to fit the OE ones with chrome forks, caliper and chrome wheels so he's having some made for me.
He said he has a small problem with the beach bars slipping, probably due to the extra leverage from the extra width, he said he's going to sort it tomorrow, but i wondered if has anyone else had this problem, and how did you get round it?
He also said that the Shift linkage that Samson provided was crap and didnt fit right, not sure what he means but he'll sort it, picking it up friday.
Cant wait

Hopefully take some pics saturday, but might need some help posting them.
The Indy sent me some cell pics, and it looks great, he said he had had mixed reactions from visitors, over the pipes, I havent seen another bike over here in the UK with Cholo's , I'm sure there is some, just not anywhere round here. so goin to shock a lot of people.

I had no issues with them being loose initially upon install, but after about 1,500mi I did have to retighten. Now I just check them every so often and haven't found them loose again. I did notice that I didn't use blue locker when I first installed, but I did go back and do that when I retightened.

Several options are available to you. Some sue strips of aluminum cans, others use Emory cloth. I would drill and tap the under portion of the riser with a small set screw to hold them in place.

Are you sure your having the correct guy working on your bike? Just sayen... Tell him to gorilla that riser clamp without stripping it... And Samson linkage is a easy install... Couldn't tell you why a pro would have these types of problems.
I ran BurlyBrand beach bars before and they never moved an inch. Good Luck Bro!

Fair comment mate, but it me who's askin you guys, not him, he will fix it today I'm sure, he's very good, seems that the shift linkage also a fairly common problem, he's just reshaped it a little.
I was just interested to see if the normal he's having were common, issues, I am really looking forward to getting it back.

If you follow the service manual for installation they want you to tighten the two rear bolts( closest to rider) by hand until top clamp touches bottom clamp and then tighten front bolts 12-15 ft-lbs and then go back to rear bolts and tighten to 12-15 ft-lbs. I have Wild 1 chubby 518's on my Fatboy and they have never moved since I followed this procedure and that was about four years ago. Good Luck
