Just turned 3000 flawless miles on mine and I ride this bike like I stole it! 07's are selling like hot cakes at my dealer. In fact they can't get rid of the 06's!

I wish this was true! Try finding a nice '06 Softtail standard that has been marked down! Ha! TRied to get one a week ago through AAFES, no luck! ALL SOLD!!

can get a 2007 Softtail Standard for $14.5K

I must be the one of the unlucky ones. My '07 Night Train has had some problems. Mostly with transmission.

- NO GASKET on the primary AT ALL!!! (warranty service already done)

- Whine in 5th gear is normal, kinda like it actually, but going away.

- Transmission had brass shavings in it at 1000 mile change.

- Has a transmission "glich" that I am taking it in soon for.

- Recall 0903: Torque Smoothing Calibration

Let me guess you have a 06 right ? Yes I would be mad too if HD came out such upgrades to the next model year and did not know about it ! So quit bashing the 07 's you know nothing about , get on your chick bike and ride home , lol

I have been hearing terrible stories about the 07 96CI harleys. tons of problems. Its a sure bet that there will be changes made in a hurry. I still stand by the rule of thumb NEVER BUY ANY THING THE FIRST YEAR OUT. It goes with out saying there will be modifications made to correct problems in future productions. I have heard about the heat problem the tranny problems and this engine has some over 70 new part numbers The dealers will play it down ill tell you this its already hurting them my local dealer is dead and sending techs home because its slow. I do not think there is a vehicle that was ever made that after the first year of a new model they did not make changes some time they are drastic. Time will tell.

I'd KILL to have a bike as nice as Nikonf8's. I bought my '06 because I got a GREAT deal on it...and they've been doing TC88's/5-speeds for about 6 years now so I figured the bugs have been well worked out. Am I mad because I didn't get a whiz-bang new TC96/6-speed?...NO Am I jealous of the '07 owners?...NO Would I own a TC96/6 speed bike?...YES someday I will as I doubt the MOCO will go back to building the TC88...Do I (or Nikonf8) ride '06 chick bikes? That's a question you should ask us in person. Good luck with your '07.

I don't see the need to flame Nikon (Nice bike BTW - I like it). Was curious as to the meaning for the post to begin with though. Thought maybe he was considering getting an 07' and wanting other's to help talk him out of it? I don't know. I want to defend the 07's some though, because the vast majority seem to be pretty good bikes. The tranny problems seem to be affecting a very small percentage overall, and lean heavily towards the baggers apparently. The running hot issues I feel, are for the most part minor. I noticed it too with mine. I was always planning a Stage 1 w/ new pipes. Did that, temps came down, bike runs awesome (as it did before). I wouldn't read too much into the re-mapping Harley has been doing. Seems to be a quick service w/ the needed results. Everyone seems to be pleased so far, if having completed it. With my Stage 1 done, I'm not even pursuing it - don't want to mess up a good thing. I've had recalls on cars and trucks before, and some of them were also simple ECM re-flashes. No big deal. I think any new vehicle purchase is a roll of the dice. Had a lemon or two in my time, and it sucks. But, to lump all 07's into one basket isn't right either..........

Most 07 problems are more torward heavier touring line, does it go into other models?it may though I would bet very very few.All these new releases have complained about the heat and fueling, exh,AC will greaty help but at your dime until recently. The new flashes may help in this problem. All models should not be tagged problemmatic and those w/other issues are only asking for HD to own up to their complaints esp with the clatter noise. The newer release of a stage 1 is rumored to be released shortly.
