I just put braided cables on my deluxe. I can seem to remember, withthe stock cables that even if the bike was in gear and I pulled the clutch in I was able to walk the bike back and forth without any resistance.
I moved my bike a little while ago and hit the shifter taking it out of neutral and putting her into first gear. I just pulled the clutch in and attempted to move her like normal. Needless to say, NO JOY, I could barely push her forward or backwards while in gear with the clutch being held in.
So heres the stupid question. Is this normal?
I know, Im a FNG! First step is admitting it. Thanks
The only stupid questions are the one's that don't get asked.
And being afraid to ask what you think might be a stupid question can often have expensive consequences.
So never be afraid to ask, the pain, effort, and money saved may be your own.
Besides, how the hell do you think we learned?

It is hard to move because while you have pulled the lever in the clutch is a multiple wet type clutch and you are feeling the friction and viscosity of the oil between the plates. Next time the bike is warmed up just after ridding it pull the clutch in while in gear and it will move easer because the primary fluid is nice and hot.

ah ha...your right! I tried it, it moves much easier while in gear after she's hot. But cold, she barely moves.
