Default 07 Fatboy "No Brake Light"

Trying to help a buddy out.. The brake light doesn't work with either front or rear. Replaced the bulb, checked the harness going to the bulb and also voltage. What confuses me is this: there are 4 prongs but only three wires. 1 black, 1 blue, 1 red/orange. The blue and red/orange and the the other prong has 12v with the switch on. Pressing either brake doesn't change anything. Any suggestions?
The only other thing to add is, this started after the battery had been removed and reinstalled but I couldn't find anything that would effect it.

all 3 wires shouldn't have voltage on them. the black should be ground, one colored wire is the running lamp, the other is the brake/turn signal wire and should only have voltage on them with either the brake applied or ign on for running lamps to operate.

Black is ground, blue is running light, red/yellow is brake. The 4th position is not used. r/y should only be hot when applying the brake. Check the fuse and turn the bike off, let it sit for 30 sec. or so then try the key on again. Maybe a breaker will reset.

with the connector unhooked and hes got power on the grd circuit, he may have pinched a harness putting the battery in, but it should also be blowing the fuse if hes got power shorted to the grd wire.

make sure the connector is unhooked, if not, you're reading the voltage drop across the bulb going to grd which will be a lower voltage/dimmer light on the test light but normal. if its bright on the grd wire with the connector hooked up, you have a bad grd somewhere. the voltage going through the bulb has no place to go.

When I had an issue it was the pin behind the fuse box. Wiggle the fuse and push your finger behind the fuse box.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm still searching for the solution so if I find it, I'll post it.
