Hi !
I have a 2013 FXDWG with all in one side monted run/turn/brake light. Since a few weeks, my brake lights are no longer working. The problem is not caused by the bulbs since the turn signal are working properly. I have tested the rear brake swith by bypassing it and the brake lights are not working either. Does anyone have an idea on what could be the cause of this issue ?
Run/Turn/Brake bulbs are 1157 dual filament bulbs. One filament handles the turn signal and the other handles the brake. Since the brake light uses more power to make it brighter the filament often wears out before the other one. It is possible that one filament blew while they other still works. I would go to your local auto parts store and get some new 1157 bulbs. They are inexpensive and should be your first step in troubleshooting.
Tkx enodrano. I changed the bulb by new ones but it does not fixed my problem. What can I do next ?
I' ve made other tests
I have 12 volts at the rear brake switch on normal position. When I push the brake, Voltage is going to 0 V which is normal. I have made some tests with my DVM. On the main connector, under the seats, the pin where I have voltage difference when I push the brake as no wire on the "jumper RR liting" on this part, there is number 70027-12A. I suspect this is not the right part or wiring have been modified before I bough the bike. Could it be the cause ?
btw: sorry for my bad writing, english is not my mother tongue...
