I need to get a new headlight for my springer (whole thing, not just a bulb or lens) and was wondering what options I have.
Obviously stock is an option but what about aftermarket lights. Should I stick to the H4 bulb or what about LED or HID?
I like clean and simple and the bike is evolving into a modern take on a vintage bike. I want a quality light and I'm not afraid to pay for it as long as it's reasonable. I also want to be able to see so function wins over style.
I've also contemplated adding an Aux light bar with some 4" lights. Where do you put the switch for them or do you run them all the time? Since cost is somewhat of an issue if I go with the Aux lights I'll probably just use an H4 bulb unless there is some reasonable alternative.
pay close attention to how far back the bullet end of the housing is from the mounting bracket with aftermarket lights. The longer housing will hit the springs, without changing the mounting block you'll have a clearance issue. Personally I prefer the stock housing with a good bulb.
