Default SERT Question

As I posted previously, I am getting conflicting information from dealers and independents. I am considering purchasing the HD tuner for a/c and pipes ONLY -- no future engine mods planned -- and want the bike mapped correctly to run cooler and reduce decel popping. Will the SERT load have the same parameters as the "stage 1 flash"? Or can a tech dial it in for my setup? Can this be done without a dyno, like after-market pre-mapped products?

I'm running a PC-5 but quite a few of the guys I ride with have the SERT. As far as I understand it does include dyno time to do this. I guess each bike is tuned a little different. Seems to work fine but make sure you have your A/C and exhaust work done before doing the SERT. You don't want to have to go back for each change.

There is a specific area in this forum dealing with SERT and SEPST.

I'd check there....

BTW.... I have the SEPST and was in the same boat you are. Didnt think I would ever do more than stage 1.

Now I'm thinking about a cam upgrade.

Do yourself a favor and get the SEPST instead.

From what I have been told the SERT only allows you to download a base map and tweak nothing else. The SEPST will let you do everything!!!!

I was overwhelmed when I started but I am so happy I educated myself.

Only thing I had to learn with is the PDF manual it came with and this forum.

If you get the SEPST you can "smart tune" which is basically running your bike on the street instead of a dyno.

You leave the box plugged in and run around then download and update your VE tables.

Yeah check the part of this forum dealing with it.

Good replies . . . I didn't realize that the Pro Tuner can be mapped to a specific configuration sans dyno. Nor did I realize that urine cross-pollinates. What a great forum!

SERT or the SE Pro tuner is what you want, SERT can be updated to the newest version. It works great you can tune from stage 1 to full race
